The Egypt team expected at the International Table Tennis Federation in Lagos World Tour and African Top 16 Cup have started camping in China ahead of the tournaments.
The eight-man team are expected to take on China team as part of their build-up to the tournaments. They are expected to arrive in Nigeria on Saturday for the World Tour, which is scheduled to begin on June 23 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation said the Egyptian team would be competing in the four singles events and the U-21 event as they aim to replicate the feat achieved by Omar Assar when he won the men’s singles title at the Lagos International Classic last year.
The Egyptian team are also eyeing the sole slot in the men and women’s event of the African Top 16 Cup which holds on June 27 and 28.
